Beeswax is the purest wax chandlers have at our disposal. Aside from some cleaning (done with water) to remove impurities resulting from harvesting the honeycomb, it is as nature created it. Unfortunately, it is also the most expensive wax we work with. When you consider that the bee must fly 500,000 kilometres and consume 10 kilograms of honey to produce 1 kilogram of wax, it puts the cost in perspective.
The colour of bees wax can range from pure white to yellow or brown, depending on the type of pollen the bees are foraging on.
Beeswax burns brighter, hotter and cleaner than any other wax. When made and burned correctly they are dripless and produce very little smoke.
When burned, beeswax produces negative ions that help clear the air of pollutants such as dust particles, viruses, bacteria’s and odours. They are the best choice of candle for people with allergies or chemical sensitivities.
We source the majority of our bees wax from local apiarists. Our beeswax candles are 100% beeswax with a pure cotton wick, coloured and scented the way nature intended.
